Product Information:  DHEA stands for Dehydroepiandrosterone. This is the main androgenic hormone produced by the adrenal gland in humans. Serum concentrations of this hormone, in contrast to other adrenal steroids, exhibit a progressive age-related decline. The mechanism for this selective decline in the output of this hormone and the exact biologic functions of this hormone remain controversial.

This hormone is formed in the adrenal gland by using cholesterol as the base building block. It breaks down to estrogen and testosterone and other hormones (etiocholanolone, androsteronedione etc.).

This is one of the important functions of DHEA�production of needed testosterone and estrogen as the levels of these hormones decline with age.
