Colorado Nutrition Acetyl L-Carnitine Tests At 99.86% Pure
Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC) is a stabilized form of the amino acid metabolite L-Carnitine. ALC plays an important role in the transfer and utilization of long-chain fatty acids for the production of energy. Since levels of this nutrient decline with age, supplementation is key to receive adequate amounts.

ALC for Energy & Endurance for greater athletic performance. The amino acid l-carnitine is well known for its key role in the burning of fats. Specifically, l-carnitine transports fatty acids to the innermost section of the mitochondria (the cellular powerplants for energy) where they are used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of the body.
ALC is a nutrient and naturally occurring metabolite that is involved in lipid, carbohydrate and protein, metabolism.

Studies have shown that L-carnitine supplementation

  • raises ATP levels in various tissues
  • decreases the susceptibility to fatigue
  • increases the rate of recovery after strenuous physical activity.

Research has demonstrated that ALC is capable of reducing cortisol levels after administration. This is important since cortisol is a catabolic hormone that can increase the breakdown of muscle tissue, which is certainly an important consideration for bodybuilders and other athletes. Other research has shown that besides reducing cortisol levels, ALC can reduce prolonged intracellular lactic acidosis, secondary tissue degeneration, and neuronal cell death.

ALC and Anti-Ageing:It is widely believed that one cause of age-related decline in energy metabolism is due to loss of mitochondrial function. The mitochondria, produce metabolic energy by a process known as oxidative phophorylation, which results in the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the key energy source in the body.
